Optimising SSD - Moving Folders During Clean Install

I am currently upgrading my desktop to hold 1 SSD and 1 HDD and plan to clean install Windows 7 Home Premium into the SSD while moving the User, Program Data, Program Files and Program Files (x86) to the HDD.
I tried surfing for tutorials with regards to this but have since met with much difficulties. (E.g. http://www.sevenforums.com/general-discussion/139074-windows-cannot-find-regedit-need-help-2.html by n0th1n9 - Unable to install some programs due to it not being able to find the temp folder despite changing the environment variables)
Can anyone point me to the right forum thread or guide me through this process. Ideally, I would like to be able to free up my SSD space by moving the above mentioned folders and changing the default installation path of programs.

How big is your SSD. The advantage of using an SSD is the speed of loading files etc, so if you are going to put all your program files on an HDD you will lose this main advantage.

Your plan is not optimal. Everything that is remotely related to the OS should stay on the SSD. Just install the OS on the SSD and leave it alone. And if is does not fit (which is unlikely), get a bigger SSD.

There is no reason to do all that, keep everything on the ssd, store you data on the Hard drive.
