Orange to Red in Elements

Have scanned a ski pic negative. The red jacket has turned out a bright orange instead of its true red colour.
Have tried all I can in Elements, should I try to adjust in the neg scanner (Aldi TRAVELLER TV-6500 SF) or am I missing something in Elements.
The pic is a bright mountain snow scene, all is perfect except the partners jacket !

In most cases any color changes are caused by a scanner.

Does it come with any software that you can adjust the scanned image?

Can't you change the color of the jacket in Elements? I'm not very good with Elements but I thought you can modify any area in a picture.

Thanks for input. I naturally assumed that Elements would do a better "twitching" job. This has proved not to be the case according to forum posts etc. else-where.
The software that came with the scanner has done the trick...ArcSoft MediaImpression 2...quite impressive.
