I have done tons of reading everywhere and I'm getting the idea, but I am getting more lost as i go. Some help would be appreciated.

I considered myself to be pretty organized. I have my mkv files and dvd folders organized on my drive. Example K:/movies/comedy. Then i have the different movies. I have action, comedy science and so on. Each has dvd folders or mkv files. I am jsut grasping the whole metadata thing. and the many apps that are available to get them (Still don't know if I'm running them right).

In media center they still come up with the calendar like grid. Do i have to put all my movies in one big movies folder? Do i have to put each movie into its own folder and get rid of the "action" or comedy folders altogether?

My concern is that i am looking at having a similir organize sytem in place using media center as opposed to using explorer to file and find my movoes to play. Any help would be appreicated as I am all stickied out :(.

Type a word in the name of the movie in the start menu search bar and click on it.

Thanks :) I think you might have missed the jist. I can find everyhting fine. I like the pretty posters that you can have in media center. I like the interface. I want that interface while keeping the organization system taht I have in place.

In that case use video libraries.

Tasks>Settings>Media Libraries>Videos>Add folders to the library>select an option>select the folder

Then go to Pictures and Videos>Video library>select your folder
