What do you mean by an "Original Disc"? Is it a music CD , a video DVD or what? Have you tried the disc in another player or PC? Does your PC recognise the disc?

Hi Iroshan
Is it a commercial DVD? Have you tried it in a DVD player or another PC? Not sure what you mean by " i tried to Software DVD (Windows 7)" Gold color DVD does not help very much, I'm afraid. Perhaps if you advised us where it came from that might be helpful.
One more question have you played any other DVD on your PC?
Could you have a look at your profile please as your county flag and Time Zone don't match. It's helpful to know your location especially when we are discussing DVD's as you might be in a PAL area and have an NTSC disc!

Hi
No need to apologise for your English. Its fine. lets try a different media player. Download the very good free player VLC form here:
VideoLAN - VLC media player - Open Source Multimedia Framework and Player
and try that
What I meant about your profile was that your country flag is shown as Sri Lanka whereas your time zone shows you in the US. Are you in the US?

I still think this is more likely to be a software problem but if you are convinced that it is a hardware issue then you should contact Dell as your laptop is still under warranty. You will though find that before Dell address a hardware issue they will want you to check all the things I am suggesting here so please save yourself some time and do the device manager check I suggested earlier. I don't think a screenshot of the DVD will help much just look and see if it is a DVD-R or -RW or +RW.
Your post above seems to suggest that you have lost the actual DVD or have I misunderstood?
Is this a commercial DVD and if so where did it come from?
Have you checked with the DVD writer manufacturers website for the latest drivers?
What player are you using and haveyou downloaded any 3rd paty codec packs?

That looks fine. You could just double click on the Optiarc DVD drive line and that should open a window which should say "This device is working properly".

Sorry about that. It seems that regular drivers are not compatible with the OEM software installed by Dell so it might be worth going onto the Dell support website, feeding in your Tag number and look to see if there is a driver update for your DVD writer there. Meantime can you answer the questions I put in my post #13 above, please?
Also I have asked you before but have you ever played a DVD successfully in this Laptop?
Is this DVD a commercial Video or a copy? Is it downloaded?
Have you ever installed any codec packs?
IMPORTANT: What makes you think this is a hardware problem?
Please try to answer these points as they might help resolve this issue for you!

I can't help you outside the UK I'm afraid. I can only suggest that you contact them where you bought the laptop.
Meantime, I still think your problem is software related but unless you are prepared to give my suggestions a try I really cannot see what more I can do!
