Can anyone send me original files for UXtheme.dll, themeui.dll and themeservice.dll

I've tried patching windows 7 so that I can use msstyles, but have failed twice, and pretty close to giving up on trying to customize the themes. At the moment, I've replaced all but themeservice, since I forgot to back it up. And now I get errors telling me that windows can't connect to event manager or something, performance is very sluggish, and it's giving me a windows classic visual style. If all fails, I'm just going to back up whatever files I can, and reformat the whole thing.

NOTE:

This is on my netbook by the way, so I can't really use any repair disks or anything of the sort, unless I plug my hard drive into another laptop.

I may be able to send them to you but it would have to be off this forum as they are copyrighted...
*EDIT* scratch that...open a cmd.exe as an adminstrator

Start->Type "cmd.exe"->Shift-Click->Run as Adminstrator->Type "sfc /scannow" in black box that appears->enter->reboot

THEN use this tutorial to install UxStyle CORE

Ah. Would this work for the Build 7260? I may think about installing full Win 7 Pro later on though.

Yes, works with all Windows 7 builds.

Are you planning an upgrade to W7 Pro?

I highly advise against an upgrade if that's your plan.

I plan on doing a full install, if that's what you mean.

Full as in formatting the drive, deleting all partitions, repartitioning, then installing?

Then yes, that's a good idea. :)

If you need any assistance, don't hesitate to ask.
