Trying to get 7 64 bit to associate my preferred video player (GOM) with .webm files. They play fine when opened thru the player, and a previous install of the same player would associate as usual. Browsing to the .exe to associate is just ignored, and the player isn't in the suggested group of players. Registry work around, maybe?

Hello FredTastic

The Program must support opening the file type, to be added.
1 Right-mouse click on any file that you wish to open with Player.
2 Select Open with, and then choose default program
3 Select Browse button, and navigate to the install folder for that program, select exe.
See here:
:ar: Open With - Change Default Program
If that approach fails, then try Option two here:
:ar: Open with - Add Program

Thanks for the reply. I had tried all the "usual" ways to do this, for some reason the OS just would not comply, even though this was a re-install of the exact release which had worked previously. Went with "OpenWithAdd" at Registering programs with the "Open With" dialog and was able to add GOM to the applications displayed in the Open With dialog, now it's the default and working fine.
