"Other User" accounts

Hi, all.. got a problem, i've got 2 user accounts on my win7 x64,
Today when i done a reboot i've suddenly got only one account showing at the logon screen and a new item called "Other User", when i click this i can enter the 2nd user account details and i logon ok, I just want to get rid of this "Other User" and be able to choose between the two accounts like i did before, any ideas ???

Have you tried entering User Accounts from the Control Panel, and selecting the Manage Other Account link, and then the Other User account and renaming it?

Yes, ive tried that, i have also added a third user account but it still only shows one account and "other user".
i can acces all accounts by clicking "other user" but i just want it as it was before.
Got no restore points either

Try this

Go to Control Panel>Administrative Tools>Computer Management>Local Users and Groups>Users..................try 'tinkering' with an entry by double clicking on it to access its data.

I also noticed i have now one extra "other" blank account on windows login screen. Which is kinda annoying. I can't see it in manage other accounts either. It has something to do with program "PostgreSQL" which i used some time ago and seems that it didn't uninstall properly.

Click on the account in User Accounts and delete it and its "files."

This is a bad omen for other ways that program insinuated itself into system files. Better check the 2nd and third registry hives Software keys for listings to delete (set a restore point first), then Program Files.

If you happen to have a restore point before you installed the offender then I would use it even if you have to reinstall other apps (which it will list).

Then I would run sfc /scannow to see if it damaged system files, and if necessary a http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/3413-repair-install.html?ltr=R to reinstall the OS under your programs and files.

Like i said it doesn't show up on user accounts at all. Or anywhere in file system. I have searched registry trough and trough but can't locate anything linked to this. I think reinstalling OS is too overkill for this since it's only a small annoyance.

A repair install doesn't reinstall the OS from scratch...it just merely "repairs" it

This may be a late call, but I have come across the same problem as OP but none of the solutions mentioned worked. I was going at this for days now and almost wound up killing my installation.

So, the only thing that did kill "the other user" was doing this: go to run, type in control userpasswords2 then click your username which you have always used (In my case I see my username and an administrator account), then properties and make your account as administrator. After I did that the administrator account dissapeared and so did the other user. Did a reboot and for the time being it works. I think the problem was that because some strange reason my account wasn't administrator anymore (which it was) and it needed to be reset. I'm not sure, correct me if I'm wrong.
