out of control scrolling...

I have searched, but not found the answer.
I have my mouse/scroll set at 4 lines. If I want to scroll down a page-several lines- or even the whole page, after I tap the mouse/pad a few times the scrolling goes out of control!! It zooms either down/up, depending on which way I was going, so I pass up the line I want several times. It is very frustrating! How do I control this? I tried control panel/mouse/wheel, but after setting it to 4 lines it still goes wild! Help, please. TY

If you are using a touchpad then some of them have parametres to keep on scrolling when your finger(s) reach the edge of the touchpad. Some of them allocate specific parts of the pad for scrolling too.

Open control panel > mouse > advanced properties (usually the far right tab, and it won't appear unless you have installed the device drivers for the touchpad, and have rebooted the machine) and see what options are there.

Check with the manufacturers website for the latest drivers, I know the drivers for my netbook touchpad were dreadful until a number of updates materialised!

Type device manager in search

Click on device manager

Check to make sure that all mouse drivers are up to date.

You could also but a cheap Logitech mouse and use setpoint software to adjust the scroll rate. Drivers may add an option, but it unlikely.
