Hey guys! First post on here and hoping everyone can help. I've had a problem with my microphone (same one the whole time) since I switched to windows 7 x64 from Vista 32. I got A LOT quieter. All I use my mic for is Steam but a lot of the time it doesn't engage when I talk. When it does engage its extremely quiet. I have the boost all the way up but its blasting static at people. I did some research and it sounds like this is a really common thing with Windows 7 and as far as I've seen there isn't a solution for it that is common at all.
Realtek HD Audio Manager Fix in Windows 7 (Fix low mic volume) - YouTube This link uses Realtek HD Audio Manager and fixes it by separating each jack from each other as far as I understand it. Only thing here is I don't have a realtek sound card (I have 2 listed under device manager AMD High Def Audio Device and VIA High Def Audio, I'm assuming AMD is my processor or even graphics card). Anyways I'm wondering a few different things. Would there be another program out there for non realtek users? Is it possible that the realtek manager would somehow work without a realtek sound card? Has anyone else figured this out?
Also to add in I've tried almost everything I can find. Its not a driver or anything similar I've checked multiple times. I've changed volume settings like mad and nothing still. I've also used the program for sound that came with my mobo, HD VDeck, and havn't found a similar option. I don't know much with computers but I do know I want to be heard! Sorry for the wall of text but this seems to be a huge problem, maybe we can figure it out? Thanks!
