Outlook 10- Avast error message

Hi All,

I have just installed office 10. In outlook i am getting an error message from avast.

avast has detected a secure connection from your mail program (process OUTLOOK.EXE) to the imap server ( server numbers) (gmail.com)

This type of connection cannot be checked for viruses. Please disable ssl/tls in you mail client so that the Mail scanner can scan you mail. The mail scanner will provide ssl/tls security itself.


I am also finding that i can't connected to the gmail server unless it is unencrypted.

I am a little unsure what to do any ideas

I managed to work it out. What a nightmare.

I just uninstalled and reinstalled. I then deleted the email address and re entered them. Using POp3 and it seems to be ok now
