Outlook 2003, Windows 7, and Undisclosed Recipients

I am running Outlook 2003 on a Windows 7 Professional laptop. I've changed the compatibility for Outlook to Windows XP, SP3; I had a Windows XP, SP3 machine before and Outlook ran perfectly fine on it, so that is how I want to run Outlook on my Win 7 machine. Outlook runs okay, except for 2 things.

My cousin often sends me e-mails which she addresses to a group of people, including me. On my Windows XP machine, these e-mails were displayed with "Undisclosed-recipients" in the To field, and were completely readable. On my Win 7 machine, the To field is blank and the message contains all of the routing information and other HTML code, making them totally illegible. Something isn't being translated properly by Outlook, and I'd like to know if there's a fix/patch for Outlook that will correct this.

My second problem is that Outlook will not archive my messages. I get the "Archiving" indication on the bottom right-hand corner of the status bar, but it goes away quickly and none of my messages get archived.

BTW, I have also defined a virtual XP/SP3 machine on my Win 7 machine, and Outlook runs perfectly on that one.

I would appreciate any help anyone can give me on one or both of these problems.

Try upgrading to Microsoft Ofiice 2007 or 2010. Good Luck!

Unless you want to use the virtual XP mode all the time I think an upgrade is the way to go you can download Office 2010 Beta from here

That's the whole point -- I don't want to upgrade to Office 2007 or 2010. I'll check to see if I have all of the Office 2003 updates. Other than that, what you're saying is that Outlook 2003 really isn't completely compatible with Win 7, the way Microsoft has been claiming it is. False advertising once again... I am having the same problem (just upgraded from XP) with Outlook 2003 SP3. I've searched everywhere and haven't found a solution. PLEASE HELP!

I should add that I've updated Office to SP3; i've done everything I can think of included re-installing Office 2003. I also don't want to upgrade when Office 2003 is supposed to be compatible.

I think the answer is that they basically lied when they said that Outlook 2003 is compatible with Win 7. Obviously it isn't. Not 100% compatible, anyway. I broke down and downloaded Office 2010 Beta, and that works fine. You should probably do the same thing. One thing to be aware of, though -- even though you check off the box that says "Delete messages from Deleted folder on exit" in Outlook 2010, it still asks you whether you want to delete the items in the Deleted folder when you exit. Very annoying...
