hi
i have issue with outlook 2010 32 bit all updated.
i have configured it correctly . it starts downloading inbox starting at 3.99gb and when it finishes (dont know if it reaches 0 because i havent monitored every mb decrease . ) but i have noticed the lowest reading of 200 mbs . then it starts again downloading . (and again i havent noticed when and from which size it starrted downloading because at the time i checked it would have reading 3.5gb).

how to solve it . its driving one of our user crazy and is eating a lot of bandwidth

Hi,

How are the accounts configured? (POP3, IMAP) - if POP3, are you using 1 inbox folder?

Outlook 2010 doesn't handle multiple pop accounts delivering to one inbox as well as it should - it's optimized for one pst file per account. The Mailbox Manager file that tracks the last downloaded message is stored in the inbox the account delivers to and is easily corrupted when multiple accounts are using it.

If yes,

You should create separate pst files for all the accounts. Go to File, Account Settings and Add a data file then select the account on the Email tab and change the delivery folder by clicking the button at the bottom of the screen.

Or set outlook to remove mail from the server. Actually, if you have gmail set to archive mail as you download it, thats why you don't get dupes from gmail.

Are you leaving mail on the server? If so, outlook will re-download everything when you make a new profile or use a new pst file. This can also happen after repairing a pst. If there are a lot of messages on the server and the 'check every xx minutes' is set too low, outlook never completes a mail pass before the next one kicks in - this prevents it from marking messages as downloaded.
if mcafee is scanning email, disable it. Anything sitting between outlook and the server can cause problems and result in duplicates.

To stop receiving the same emails again you can follow the steps suggested below:
1. On the Tools menu, click E-mail Accounts.
2. Click View or change existing e-mail accounts, and then click next.
3. Select your ISP account, and then click Change.
4. Click More Settings.
5. Click the Advanced tab, and under Delivery, ‘uncheck’ the Leave a copy of messages on the server check box.
6. Click OK, and then click Finish.

Increase the time for between checking for new messages automatically to ...10 mins.
