Outlook 2010 on Windows 7 gives me problems with stationery

I researched all over the forums to find out how I could continue to make my own Outlook stationery after my school district adopted Windows 7 for us all. It didn't seem quite as easy as with XP but I knocked it around until I thought it was working. That is, until people I sent message to complained that they were nearly unreadable. I use picture backgrounds for my "form" messages, and they all looked great when I sent them out. When received, however, it seems the picture didn't just stay in the background, but also inserted one copy above any text I had written. Furthermore, this extra image refuses to be deleted, moved or even re-sized. I really don't want to resort to the "same-old" solid (or NO) backgrounds everyone else seems to settle for. People have come to expect more from me. Please Help

Thanks for your suggested help pages, but .....
I have already been to these; actually started there with Outlook 2010 before Windows 7 was installed. They worked fine under XP but not with 7.

The image not only forms my background (nicely tiled) but a copy of the image is also displayed within the text of the message; above the message. When someone responds to that message, what I see is a blank area the same size as the image, which refuses to be deleted or re-sized (I test sent to myself and replied).

Not sure what to try next. I will keep plugging at it, but any other ideas will help bunches.

Hello Ken -

You posted "...until people I sent message to complained that they were nearly unreadable" so I'm thinking it is related to the recipient.

For example, if you sent me that nicely formatted email complete with background, or boarders and fancy font, it would look (to me) as you described as the "problem". I could read your text (in my selected font), not "see" any graphics (I don't render HTML emails) and if I REPLY to your email you would then see it as I do - no HTML.

However, it could be another issue or two not related to the recipient but I would check the recipient's settings first.

No, actually I don't think it is the recipient settings that are a problem. When I compose the message, it looks just fine; just what I want. I have sent it to myself, and see the same problems that others complain about. When I say unreadable, what I think they meant was they didn't see any text, because they didn't think to scroll down below the visible screen to find any text. That is what I see on my sent-to-myself tests as well. The graphic isn't visible, but a space is saved for it, which won't be deleted or re-sized.

I have one question: why?

Really - why are you doing that? HTML email is a pain and "iffy" at that. Good thing you don't email me as I have my email client set to PLAIN TEXT only and I set my own choice of type face (font).
