It looks like some users may have experienced an issue in Outlook 2013 related to data loss. Microsoft released a critical update to fix this, and I was notified via email about it. The email specifies:
Support article: Description of the Office Professional Plus 2013 Preview update: July 27, 2012
32bit update: Download: Update for Microsoft Outlook 2013 Preview (KB2737132) 32-Bit Edition - Microsoft Download Center - Download Details
64bit update: Download: Update for Microsoft Outlook 2013 Preview (KB2737132) 64-bit Edition - Microsoft Download Center - Download Details
It sounds like a serious problem. Luckily, I don't rely that heavily on emails (even for business) to need Outlook as a part of Office.
