Is this what you are referring to?
When you paste, you can right click and you should get a few formatting options
Keep source formatting (default for CTRL+V)
Merge formatting (will take on the formatting in line with what you have)
Text only.

Many thanks ... I usually copy into notepad to eliminate any formatting, then copy again and paste into the Outlook message, which then doesn't offer any pasting options.
Incidentally 'AutoFormat as you type' (in AutoCorrect): all boxes are unchecked.

I've recently noticed that Outlook 2016 is changing parts of text in incoming messages to URLs (blue underlined text), e.g. a piece of text ends with 'print version 2006.pdf', and '2006.pdf' is in underlined blue text (URL http://2006.pdf/).
Thus the message is littered with meaningless URLs - it seems like a particularly witless automatic conversion.
Another example is '16-2-1692' which is converted to blue underlined text (URL tel:16-2-1692), and clicking on it launches Skype - which I don't use and can't uninstall.
Outlook 2016 is the culprit because the above examples of text are untouched when the same message is opened in Yahoo's webmail browser.

What I meant was, the formatting is done in Word prior to copying to the clipboard. There is no special Outlook 'feature' to turn on and off ... Have you also tried the suggestions I made in my earlier post?
I'm using Notepad to 'deformat' text from other sources.
Word was only mentioned because posters in other forums suggested that Word 'track changes' settings also applied to Outlook.
The first 2 suggestions appear not to apply. I've just explored the final one - and there's a risk of introducing unwanted changes.
PS when the thread was first started, Office was on Version 1807 (Build 10325.20118 Click-to-Run), it's now Version 1808 (Build 10730.20088 Click-to-Run). This problem wasn't evident a few months ago.
