Hello
I receive notification sound on first message receipt, but not second, third... unless about ten minutes passes. Then the notification sound will come through, and the cycle will start again. During the no notification sound cycle, other system sounds work fine.
Any Ideas?

That's the way Outlook works as far as i know.
One audible alert per "send/receive" no matter how many messages are received.
I also get multiple popup display alerts per "send/receive" depending on how many messages are received.

I would not want each message to have an audible alert, one is enough for me.
I like the multiple popup's so i can see where each message is coming from.

I'm using Office 2010, but i don't remember earlier versions working any different.

Outlook 2010 notifications delay

Thanks for the reply. I suppose that makes sense. I need to find a way to get an audible notification on every email. I know that is now how most would like to be notified, but since switching to office 2010/win7, I have often been getting this request

Thanks in advance for any ideas.

I created a Rule to play a sound for each message received.
That still only played one audible alert per "send/receive".
I thought that was odd, as i expected multiple audible alerts.

I then set up a Rule to display a popup for each email message received.
That displayed one popup per "send/receive" with each incoming email listed in the popuup.

To me it seems Outlook is grouping things together in a "send/receive" in a way you don't want.
I have Outlook setup for several email accounts and account types (IMAP, MAPI, POP3).
Maybe it would work differently with a simpler setup...I doubt it, but who knows...

You could also look for a 3rd party tool that can do what you want.
Here is one i found you can check out:
