Hi Folks, I use Windows Live Mail 2012. Why does this happen when forwarding a message?

It happens with all messages.

I'm wondering the same thing. Everything looks pretty normal to me in this picture.

Just guessing, but the question might be because of the horizontal scroll bar.
Maybe the email displays without the scroll bar when reading (not forwarding) the message.

Well spotted DavidE,
I get scroll bars at the bottom & on the right when reading or forwarding messages. This only happens on my Laptop.

The bottom scroll bar is probably there because word wrap is turned off, so you can scroll left/right to read everything.
I don't use WLM, I'm not sure if/how you can turn on word wrap.

The scroll bar on the right is there because the whole message can't be displayed in one screen.
This makes it easy to scroll down and read the bottom of the message.

Thunderbird email has a built in Rewrap option that makes it easy to get rid of the bottom scroll bar.
There are also addons available for word wrap.

I have used WLM for years and thought I knew it well. I have the 2012 version on my two computers. It's only on my Laptop I get this problem and have never noticed the word wrap option in WLM.

I know the scroll bar on the right is sometimes required but no the other one.

If it's not caused by word wrap, then i'm not sure.

If it just started happening recently, i'd suspect a Windows Update might have caused the change.
But then it seems if that was true, it would affect both your PC's.

Is it possible for you to connect an external monitor to your laptop and see if that makes a difference ?
Maybe a larger monitor and different screen resolution will make a difference.

No external monitor available. I tried stretching the page horizontally when message was open it worked to a certain extent but still gives a bottom scroll bar in the preview pane.
Post this on http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us so will wait for their input.

:p

Well you made some progress by stretching the page horizontally.
So now it's only the preview pane that has the bottom scroll bar, right ?

Send yourself a very small text only message with "Test Message" as the message body.
Read that message and see if it has the bottom scroll bar.
This message should not be wider than what can be displayed, needing the scroll bar.

Hi DavidE, sorry I never replied or tried what you posted. I have now ditched WLM 2012 for various reasons and am now using Thunderbird Portable, it has a wide setting for the preview pane and still adds a bottom scrollbar on some of my messages. Thank you.
