Solved Ox800CCC78 Error

I am using Office 2003. Yes I know it is old but I don't want pay for the new ones.

Suddenly I can NOT sent any kind of email. When I tried to I get the Ox800CCC78 error.

Does anyone know how to correct this?

That was a great page but I don't think it applies to Outlook 3003

At the second step, it says to select "Account Settings".

This is what shows at that step:



There is NO "Account Settings".

I guess I have to keep searching.

Try this one then:
Outlook 2003 error code 530, 0x800ccc78 and 0x800ccc92 - Microsoft Community

Try the below mentioned steps for the error 0x800ccc78:
1. Open Outlook.
2. Click on Tools->Email account settings.
3. Click Next for View or change email account.
4. Double click on the email account.
5. Click on More settings and click on Outgoing server tab at the top.
6. Check the box My Outgoing server requires authentication.
7. Click on Advance tab and change the port number for Outgoing server to 587.
8. Click ok.
9. Click next finish.

There is NO such selection as Tools->Email account settings in my Outlook.

Once you reach the point shown in your attachment, simply proceed from point number 3 described below (after selecting View or change existing email account), then select next...

1. Open Outlook.
2. Click on Tools->Email account settings.
3. Click Next for View or change email account.
4. Double click on the email account.
5. Click on More settings and click on Outgoing server tab at the top.
6. Check the box My Outgoing server requires authentication.
7. Click on Advance tab and change the port number for Outgoing server to 587.
8. Click ok.
