DDR 3 memory chips
I have 3 x 2 and 2 x8. I noticed that memory usage was redlining and process explorer was showing 6b, so the 2 x 8 were not being recognized. This is after several years of this config. I moved the memory around and it started showing 12GB of memory, but I began having problems with windows starting and lock ups. this has not happened in a LONG time. Pulled the 2 x 8 and now the pc is OK but it's slow. This setup needs more than 6GB, it's just slow.

I have the 3 x 2 in a1 b1 c1. I have used the 2 x 8 before...where should they go according to the manual?

Hi,
According to your manual, with 2 x8 RAM sticks, you can achieve dual channel operation by placing the two sticks in DIMM sockets A1 and B1. The location of DIMM slots A1 and B1 is shown in your manual, but I cannot read it because the top of your supplied image is cropped. The pair of Memory sticks should be capable of the same CAS latency. The latency timings can usually be found on the sticker attached to the RAM modules.

Pretty sure I matched them 9-9-9 when I bought the 2nd set.[/IMG]

Is each stick 9-9-9 @ 1333 MHz, or 9-9-9 @ 1600 MHz?

With the motherboard in the depicted orientation, use the right-most DIMM sockets of the two left-most banks. These are labelled DIMM_A1 and DIMM_B1 in your diagram.
