Padlock icon on IE icon on taskbar

I had a search hijacker on my Internet explorer (safesear.ch) and on my Chrome browser I had trovi. I removed both. Below are some issues which I did not have before, please help me resolve those
- there is a padlock icon on IE icon which is on the task bar,
- I terminate Chrome and check running processes with task manager, there are two or three Chrome processes still running.

Hi and welcome to SevenForums,
Please right click the existing shortcut and click on Unpin this program from the Taskbar,
If you also have a shortcut on your desktop right click and delete it as well,
Close all open ie windows,

Click Start and click on All Programs If ie is also listed as your recently opened programs right click it and Remove from list,

Click on All Programs,
See if ie has a shield on that listing if not Open and right click it on the taskbar and Pin to Taskbar,

Very good and thanks for the update just a corrupted shortcut file which shortcuts are easily deleted and replaced,

You can use these free tools to see if they find anything,
Manually Update them before running full scans,
Try not to use your computer while the scans are running, (one at a time of course).
