The page file will work fine on C drive. The advantages of having it on another drive is to reduce disk access when using applications.

Its ok, but not ideal.

If you have the pagefile set with variable min/max settings then it will likely cause fragmentation of the drive slowing the access times up after a while. Ideally you want the pagefile on its own hard drive if you can afford that or on a dedicated partition on a second hard drive.

Ive moved both pagefile and indexing off c: drive to help alleviate useage of c:.

You only need 1 page file if you boot from just the 1 hard drive.

Pagefile on a second partition on the same HDD is no advantage. Then let it on your C: partition.

If you have a second HDD it is a small advantage to put it there.... if u don t have two HDDs... let it on C: :sarc:

okay, I get it, thank u guys.

some people think the rule of thumb is 1.5 time your physical ram size.

Yes, that's the 'safe' choice that covers most situations fairly well.

There are a number of ways to fine tune your page file setting, but they require a little understanding of how windows and your applications work and how you use your machine. If you want to delve further, see the link in my post earlier in this thread to another thread on page files.
