My Internet Explorer IE8 and IE9 plus most of my programs like office and so forth give me "not responding" about a third of the time so I have to wait a minute for it to start responding. I went out and bought myself a SSD 60 GB for my OS. So I'm thinking of putting on my SSD drive and just building my OS from scratch. But before that I was also thinking of reinstalling my OS but I have the full version. Then Windows 8 Beta is coming out month after next and was going to put my SSD drive on that but can always get another one. So any ideas how I should approach this. I also have a backup computer so I'm not sure what I'm going to do yet. Any ideas?

Approach what?

Your post is a bit confusing.

Can you restate your issues?

If you are having slow response with pages and with Office, I wouldn't expect an SSD to magically fix anything.

I view of your problem I would make a fresh installation on the SSD. At least you start with a clean sheet.

And I would not "pollute" the SSD with Win8 Beta. It is only a test system that can sit on any HDD (unplug the SSD when you install it and switch with the BIOS boot order).

I installed my Win8 on an external disk attached via eSata. If you have an eSata port, that is another option. All you need is an eSata enclosure (appr. $20) and some bare bone disk.

I have lots of USB3 drives which I like better and I have so many SATA 2 and 3 hard drives which are removable. But I think hooking up the SSD and just going from scratch would be the right thing for me to do. Besides I have too much time on my hands and this will give me something to do. Thank you for your input.
