Hi Guys, I have got a funny kind of problem that is baffling me totally.

I have a SSD for my OS so I decided to reduce my C drive page file to a minimum of 16MB - 16MB, and then rum a system manged pagefile on my mechanical drive. My problem is this, the pagefile size via the advanced setting shows 16MB.

And yet when I view my pagefile.sys in my C drive it still remains at 8GB

I have tried the usual rebooting etc but the pagefile will not change size and is eating a whopping 8GB of SSD space. My only thoughts are maybe I have some sort of software installed that dictates the pagefile size, is that possible ?

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated because this is really getting me frustrated to the point of madness.

I would suggest setting the configuration to no pagefile and then reboot. Then check if the pagefile is still there. If that works you can then set the size you wish.

Since applications do not and cannot access the pagefile themselves that cannot be the cause of the problem.

But really, a 16 MB pagefile isn't very realistic, if for no other reason it is just too small to be of any practical use. From a performance standpoint the pagefile and an SSD are a perfect match. But to be used it would have to be the only one.

I have tried your method LMiller7, the reason I set the PF to such a small size is that even when I the PF disabled on my C drive the PF remains there stuck at 8GB. I can delete it but it comes right back at 8GB even though PF is disabled on my C drive.
