Painfully Slow Internet Browsing, High Ping

Hello. In the last 3 or 4 days, my desktop computer running Windows 7 64-Bit has been practically unable to browse internet pages, play online games, or load YouTube videos. I don't know what caused this, and nothing jumps out at me suggesting what might be causing this. Any help would be really appreciated, as I'm going back to school in a few days and I need my desktop to be able to use the internet (though I'm not completely sure it's not my own home network).

Anyway, some information I think is important:
-using RoadRunner service with cable modem and Linksys wireless G router
-I'm connected wirelessly with a TRENDnet wireless N PCI adapter
-the issue is very recent, with no major hardware/software changes to suggest a cause
-I browse with Google Chrome, though I've checked to make sure the issue exists with IE and FireFox
-every so often it regains sufficient connection to load pages at a reasonable speed for about 5 minutes
-my laptop, sitting on the same desk, has a perfectly fine connection (I'm using it to write this)
-very strange: my laptop has 3/5 bars on the network/sharing icon, while my desktop actually has a full 5/5!

I hope this information can help some of you figure this out. If you have any questions or need me to post screens of configs or whatever, I'll do my best to get them up.

Have you tried using another channel for your wireless connection yet?

It seems that rebooting puts the connection back to normal, but only temporarily. After loading a few pages in Chrome, the problem is back.

I haven't tried that. Do I have to switch the channel from the machine connected to the router (that would be my dad's computer)? Or is that something I can change from my side? And thanks, I'll give that a shot.

I would sus[pect and you can confirm that this is a dns problem. Next ti,me you get the problem type ipconfig /flushdns, followed by ipconfig /renew. If it fixes the problem you are having a problem reaching your dns servers. (they provide domain name service)

Oh that's Hamachi. It's no longer enabled on startup or active in my processes, but I assume Windows just keeps it around since it's an 'active' network adapter. Even though it's application-based and virtual.. whatever haha.

That needs to go one way or the other, it should be possible to delate it from device manager.

Windows gets confused with this sort of network. This could easily cause the erratic connection problem that you are describing. Hard to say for sure but it's best to eliminate loose ends when trying to solve these types of problems.

Alright, I deleted it from device manager. It didn't seem to make much difference in my connection, but it's probably like that anyway. For now, my page load times are usually under a second or two, so not enough for me to worry about. Not quite what it was, but it's improved. I'm just waiting for it to crap out again so I can use the flushdns.

I'm still getting the issue, but less frequently. While I was trying to load a webpage today, I tried typing ipconfig /flushdns in the console, and the page finished loading instantly. I've tried it a few times with different pages, and it seems to work every time. The problem is getting the connection to remain fast, because it goes back to being slow after I run the command. Anything I can do to fix this?
