Hi, i have downloaded Paragon free backup, installed and attempted to run a backup however this has failed saying error 0x11112(VSS specific error) and i dont know what to do as there is no help section for this error. As i could get this to work I then dowloaded the free version from Macrium only to find that when i ran a backup, I received a note saying error code = 1 please run chkdsk C:/f. I have run chkdsk but this has not done anything.
I read somewhere about the VSS set up which at present is set to manual - whether this is correct or not I dont know.

Any help would be appreciated.

Many Thanks

Andy

Make sure that the VSS (Volume Shadow Service) is running... Make sure that you are only running one backup program as well....

Do you have the 100mb system partition?

This has been known to cause this error.

You should be able to make backups of all the partitions except the system partition.

There is a way to not get this 100mb partition when installing Win7, just mark the target partition 'Active' prior to installing.

Hello, i have the same problem with the "100mb system partition" and the "0x11112 error". Does this mean, i have no chance to backup my hard drive without reinstalling Windows? Or is there a way around, cause i´m just ready with installing all applications(browser, games, tools and so forth) and was on to backup the first time? Greetings andpunch

Which backup program are you using?

Try Macrium Reflect free version.

If that doesn't work there are other options.
