Partition Gone ?

I had a partition that didn't have much data on it, but the small amount of valuable data I did have I need to get it back. Is there a way to get a snap shot from 3 days ago ? This happened all within the past 24 hours, and I haven't done anything different to the computer. Everything worked no problems, it's driving me made.

Hello Christopher,

Could you post a screenshot of your Disk Management (diskmgmt.msc) window showing the full layout of your HDDs to see if that may shine a light on what may be wrong?

Please also tell us what activity you performed just prior to the partition disappearing. It may not have been deleted but just hidden.

If the partition has been deleted then you would see unallocated space equal to the size of the partition in the screenshot. What was the size of this partition?

The size of the partition was not big. I don't see the partition appear in disk manager. There was a database file on that partition that a program looked for, since that partition is no longer there, the program can't find the database file and from the looks of it, it's gone for good. I did upgrade the software, that was about it so unless the software decided to delete the database file, I'll never know. I'm going about hoping to solve this a different route, thanks for the help.

If you know for sure it was on a partition then you can undelete partitions using free Partition Wizard
bootable CD Partition Recovery Wizard. But you should know if you deleted a partition, or suspect you did.

If an entire database has disappeared and cannot be found by typing part or all of its name in Start Search box, then you may have serious infection and need to run a full scan now with Malwarebytes

I wonder if undeleting the partition would bring back the lost files too.

Undeleting the partition brings it back with everything intact.

I didn't delete a partition. I think the program that I updated, deleted the file. Thank you everyone. I'm going to have to target the program, not my PC
