I was in the process of resizing my partition using Paragon Disk Manager 10.0 and a few mins after I got a power outage, I can still see all of my files on my drive but I cannot access most of them and they now have a "padlock" icon.. is there anyway to salvage my files?? If it matters when I started the computer back up windows chkdsk fired up and started deleting orphan files and i got several messages about a security ID is invalid on files replacing with default ID..

Any partitioning, repair, install or upgrade needs to have the data backed up first.

In the future use free Partition Wizard bootable CD which protects data as it moves it.

You can try free Paragon Rescue disk to see what partitions or files it can recover - google it..

But most likely you'll need to try free Recuva Data Recovery software to try to piece back together what files it can. Be sure to read the Help files while it is running, which takes awhile. You need to be up to speed to know how to deal with what it finds.
