Ii was trying to create partition in windows 7 .. it is giving error like the system has already reached the maximum nuber of partitons.. plzz help me out with this.

The maximum number of active partitions on one HD is four. How many do you currently have?

IF this is a Dell machine, they, among others, preconfigure their machines (at least, some of them) to already have all four partitions assigned. This effectively prevents creating any new partitions -- without a lot of work involving backing off existing partitions, repartitioning, and copying back partition contents.
