Password a folder

Yes, I use 7Zip to create a passworded archive and then delete the original file once you confirm access to the zipped one.

Passwording a folder is only as good as Remembering the password ;)

Thanks all for your info,Two points if I may ask.
After the folder is password protected with 7-zip can I add another folder to it?.
One other point If I take the pc in for repair and the engineer uninstalls the 7-zip will he be able to access that folder that is protected?.
My main object would be to have a spreadsheet made up of all my passwords etc in a safe folder and maybe some banking info.
Many thanks once again.

I had a go at the 7-zip,Worked okay the only thing was to access the zip folder that I set a password I had to acces it from the 7zip icon on the desktop when I tried to access the folder from my documents it would'nt open the file.
Is that the correct way that it works??

Thank.

I haven't had a good experience with 7-zip.
A couple of times i created password protected zipped files, they'd loose the attribute after a restart.
I could open my protected file without being prompted for the pass.
I think winrar is better.

I used to use "Folder Guard Pro"
I believe version 9 is for Win 7 x 64.
It was good because when you entered the folder you could do as you pleased and as soon as you left it was locked.
