Password reset disk.

This maybe a dumb question but is it possible to place the reset disk for my password to windows 7 on a usb external hard drive?

I know it can be done on a disk or a usb flash drive but will it also work if I put it on an usb external hardrive?

I don't think so but I'm not sure; there's one way to find out, if the HDD is or is not detected when you get to this dialog box then you'll know for sure and be sure to post back with an update.

That should work, make sure your BIOS allows USB devices in the boot sequence.

I have actually decided to use a disk for now. I found some blank disks that I purchased about a year ago. I totally forgot that I still had them.

I am sure at some point I will see if it will work on an external hd too, but atm am very busy with work and so not really upto looking at my bios settings etc...
