I was wondering if there was any type of software out there, where you can set which folders you would like to password and when double clicking on them you would have to enter a password in order to access the file.

I have used this. Check it out if you would like.

KeePass Password Safe

I used the "portable apps" version, but a lot of people like it.

Yeah on that note ^^^ ones like that i use Password XP.

Great app. Can auto add your info into the forms when you visit sites or choose to just right click to add your log in info and such,... I tried most all password safe storing apps and Password XP is the best.

Those are to store passwords, what i was asking, looking for was something like ok say in "My Documents" folder i double click it then a little window pops up where you have to enter a password to get into. Almost a program allowing you to set certain passwords to certain folders.

That one is a nifty one, but i was thinking on a more high tech level. I just watched a video and he locked a folder but it went away, and the only way to get it back is if he opened lockbox and entered the password, the folder would re appear.

What i was thinking was taking a folder setting a password to it, without logging into log box, you just double click on the folder say a little transparent window pops up for you to enter a password, once you enter the correct password the folder opens up.

I am sorry im being so picky i was just wondering if there was anything out there like that, that would be pretty cool to see.

Yes it kinda does that to pretty much.

I use to use it and if remember correctly yes, but yeah i know what you mean or trying to say.

I think this is kinda of uhm not needed tho. As that is why people have different type accounts on a computer so others can not see of get into there stuff. Plus mainly most people have there own computers so..

Plus just like this lady says even at her age ( no offense to her) http://www.sevenforums.com/general-discussion/59331-unable-rename-folder-3.html#post538159

but yeah i have always thought that something like this needed to be added as a default to windows systems where u can set a password on folders.

Upon reading, I downloaded My Lockbox. It does not allow to lock "Documents" (see the attachment). How can I make it?

I normally compress the folders I want with Winrar and set a password to access the files, but it's not the same as what you are looking for.

I would like the same thing as well. I want to click the folder and have password dialog box pop up for entering the password. I briefly tried this one
XOSLAB.COM
but can't remember if it did that or not.
