Have these reared their head yet? Won't be home for a few hours but am wondering if it's a heavy one - do the updates seem safe?

I got 10 Windows updates and 10 Office 2010 updates for Win 7 32 Bit.
All 20 installed successfully.

I rarely see the notification before Wednesday morning, which isn't a problem since I wait until Saturday morning to download and install them just in case one or more of them turns out to be problematic.

I got 22 offered. First time round 20 installed but it reported 2 of the windows updates failed. But after the reboot finished I tried them again and they went in absolutely fine. System seems ok with no nasty side effects. Thank gods that's over for another 4 weeks. It is definitely not my favourite time of the month!

Destroyed my system, Win 7 64-bit. Does nott boot.

W7 64-bit here went from a 30-40 second start up to 3 minutes after the WUP. It keeps the totally black screen forever!

I tried to do a clean boot to see if I could find the issue, W7 no longer booted up. I have W10TP on a separate physical HD with W7 as the default. It was trying to boot into W10TP but even that fails but during the boot up, my monitor goes into sleep mode. I'm guess that it can't boot into W7 so it then goes to W10TP. Never had issues like this before.

Restored an W7 image and back up but not sure if W10TP got hosed as well. Don't knoe if I should install that mess again or just hide all of them and wait for a fix.

Just installed all 13 offered updates (after holding off for a few days to see how things shake out).
All installed successfully and computer is working fine.

As posted on the News topic on this, I've not installed the updates yet but on switching on my main computer just now I have been offered one less than previously, the standard monthly Malicious Software Removal Tool being absent from the list.

INTERESTING. I was not offered Malicious Software Removal in my pack of 13 Updates which I installed yesterday. HOVEVER, upon turning on my computer today it now is offering that tool as a single Update, which I just installed. Again, without issue.

I've just installed most of the updates satisfactorily on one machine, including the reinstated MSRT update (which was offered again this morning after disappearing yesterday), but excluding a couple of W10 "marketing" updates - one of which was already hidden a month or two ago - as well as a couple recommended by Susan Bradley's Patch Watch to be held for now pending further advice. No problems thus far, and if all is well with this machine then I'll patch the other one tomorrow.

I just did the updates. Since I normally will not do more than 15 at a time and I had a total of 20 updates this go around, I did the ten Windows updates first and rebooted. Everything went fine until I typed in my password on the login screen; everything froze and the computer just sat there and laughed at me. I finally hit the reset button and did a normal boot. This time, the computer booted up just fine. I then downloaded and installed the ten Office 2010 updates and they installed ok with no reboot required. I checked for updates one more time, just for excrement and merriment, and there were no more.

Edit: I later updated a notebook that was three months behind. Since I update only 15 at a time, it took four sessions but I didn't have any trouble.

My dad did the updates auto and his pc became not bootable to windows. Just like two other people reported here. This makes me really scared of doing the windows updates but I know I will have to proceed with doing them at one point.

Create a System Backup Image before applying Patch Tuesday updates.
Restoring an Image has saved me a lot of time to fix a system when things get screwed up for whatever reason ...

I suggest using Macrium free for imaging, here is a tutorial by whs:

I've now installed most of the updates on my other machine, some left off as per my earlier post. KB3046482 failed, and the MSRT wasn't offered until afterwards. The MSRT then installed on its own ok, but took longer than usual - about 7 minutes - after which KB3046482 installed ok on its own.

I still have a couple of W10 "marketing" updates on hold, plus a couple that Patch Watch recommended holding for now on both machines as well as an Office update also recommended to be held on the only machine with Office installed on it.

It's proving to be an interesting month, one way and another.
