Pause all print jobs before printing begins

Hi,

I teach computers to people, who have the classes as part of their re-qualifications to get better jobs (so often people with no or very little computer skills, who can be sometimes the most dangerous people around computers). Recently, at the request of school's headmaster, I got printer to my computer classroom, to allow students to print some stuff (like CVs they learn how to create, etc).
The printer (HP LaserJet Pro P1102) is connected to Teacher PC, which is in the same workgroup as the rest of the PCs in classroom.
Now, I would like to set up the printer to hold all print jobs from the workgroup, so that teacher would need to "approve" the printing, to prevent people from printing junk, but to eliminate the need to walk around with flashdisk.
I have seen this at work (at my college), so I know it is somehow possible. The approving of printing was done from the "see what's printing" window.

Thanks for any help.

My usual disclaimer: I'm not an expert at anything.

I think I remember reading that if you want to pause (or resume) all documents that are waiting to print, you need permission to manage the printer. To view printer permissions, right-click the printer that you're using, click Properties, click the Security tab, and then click your user name. If your computer is on a domain, printer permissions might be controlled by the administrator.

What are printer permissions?

I hope this gives you a starting point to solve your problem.

I am on computer's only account (just reinstalled them, so I am pretty sure it is the admin account), so permissions are not a problem.

But I think I found a "sort-of" solution for now.

  1. Hit "Pause Printing" in printer window (should remain like that at all times when not printing).
  2. Select all documents in queue
  3. Right click and Pause
  4. Uncheck "Pause Printing"
  5. Unpause the one I want to print

I was looking for something that would automatically set all files sent to printer as "Paused", so that steps 1-4 would not be needed.
