This started like in December and i open up my case and see nothing wrong with my fans but i believe it might be the cpu fan not sure because at start up it whirls then after like 1-2min of being logged on it goes quiet. Should i worry about this? When i first bought it ,it did not do this was really queit. Could it be possibly because i OC my radeon card but it doesn't have a fan on it so don't think that could be causeing it because it doesn't over heat its at 38c? Temperatures don't go up its actually really cool only problem is that whirl sound bothers mefrom when it starts up. Would like some advice on this to what to check for and do.

You can manually stop your case fans or graphics card fans for a second or two to see if the sound disappears in order to identify the source of the noise.

If it isn't the CPU fan making the noise, I wouldn't worry about it as long as it still worked and the temperatures remained in line. If the noise bothers you, there are quiet fan replacements.

All fans PWM; speeds at idle: CPU circa 500 rpm; intake circa 600 rpm; exhaust circa 600 rpm; CPU temps 27 idle and 47 C load in a warm room (27 C/81 F) when running Intel Extreme Tuning Utility stress test.
At startup a fan or two of mine sometimes make a great whirring noise then slowly quietens down. I just keep mindful of it & have the temperatures monitored just in case they fail.

If they did the computer will automatically shut off with the heat.

As long as the fans quieten down after startup it should be OK. At least you know they are working.

I've seen this on a number of PCs. It may be dust related, it may be related to the environment you are in, or it may be BIOS related. In some cases, cooler ambient (room) temperatures will result in the fan not having to start up as fast, and higher ambient (room) temperatures will result in the fan starting up faster. The reason it will die back down is likely due to a setting in the BIOS to run the fan quietly and only speed it up if the computer gets above a certain temperature. Once the sensors register that the temperature is low enough, the fan quiets down again (which is probably what you are experiencing after being logged in for some time).

Things to check:
  1. Is room temperature higher than it was when the fan used to be quiet on startup?
  2. Is there dust in the machine (have you used a can of compressed air or low pressure compressor to blow it out recently since not all dust may be visible)?
  3. The BIOS version can also control fan speeds. Have you updated the BIOS since the fan was quiet on startup?
  4. Chipset drivers can also affect fan speeds for some boards. Have you changed chipset drivers before you noticed the change?

could it be that i have cool and quiet enabled in my bios and yes i'm updated to my latest bios provived by asus for my mobo. Does need a bit of cleaning i guess. Also can i get shocked trying to stop the fans. I've always been kind of hesitant at touching it from the inside when its on

Yes, the cool and quiet feature is what I was saying that allows it to run quietly until it reaches a higher temperature, then it cools down to a lower temperature, and then the fan runs quiet again.

Touching the fans will not shock you as they are plastic, but be careful not to touch any other components, and do not stop the fans too long as that would stop cooling and possibly damage components that overheat.

Well i tested the fans it is the cpu fan that's being loud but like I have mentioned before it quiets down after 1 min when logged onto windows. It's just loud when booting and for 1 min when logged into windows. So I should be fine and not worry i'm guessing? Also my cpu is idle at 50c is that normal?

50C is a little higher than mine (38C), but still within tolerances. Have you blown the dust out to see if it gets lower and the fan gets quieter?

As long as it stays around 70C during gaming, it should be fine. What do you use to monitor your temperatures?

I use HWiNFO64 Download in sensor only mode and run logging. That way I can save a CSV log in my documents and check temperatures after I play to see how the temperatures were during game play.

Sitting idle at 50c is pretty high. I'd suggest using something like CPUID HWMonitor that lets you monitor the high and low temps during use to make sure when your system is running full speed it's not getting dangerously high in temp. I spoil my system and keep it in a very cool room it sits at between 18 and 19c idle.

54-56C is perfectly acceptable. I would not worry about it. Your idle temperatures are fine, in my opinion. Some computers run a little hotter on idle. If your gaming temperatures were going above 75C, I would be concerned, but you are well below that. My girlfriend's laptop was getting to about 85C and shutting off just from watching HD video online until we blew the dust out of it. It still gets up to 80C, but some Gateways are known to have heating issues.

Anyway, your temperatures look great, so don't worry about it.

Temperature is doing better today it's sitting 43c which is more reasonable for me but the fan is still annoying think i might replace it because I can't stand it. Fan went faster then usual today but it quieted down.I use to get around 26-32c when i first bought the computer. It's only like a year old and i did some research and found it on newegg and some people had the same problem as i did with the fan.So i'm thinking about a replacement.

Mine looks like this and by this brand Newegg.com - Thermaltake CL-P0503 70mm Rifle Bearing CPU Cooler for AMD 65W Series

Would this be any better keeping it cooler and quiter. Newegg.com - COOLER MASTER Hyper TX3 RR-910-HTX3-G1 "Heatpipe Direct Contact" 92mm CPU Cooler

Link to my mobo specs, I believe it's compatible but would like your input

ASUSTeK Computer Inc. - Motherboards- ASUS M4N68T-M V2

Looks good to me. Just make sure you do not have any components that might get in the way of the heat pipe (card slots, memory slots, etc). It looks like there is plenty of room for the heat pipe, so it should be fine, though. :)
