I should be in the chillout room.
One PC on the workgroup called HOMENET is not being recognized. It's my home system that runs
for years under this one workgroup name. There could be a naming confict between Computer name,
description name and Network connection type all of which I've done over and over but I can't find
why this one machine won't kick in. It always says "Welcome to HOMENET on the new name I've made
to get around any problem. Then I have to shut down and it comes back blank again.
Please take me through troubleshooting what must be a naming problem
Or would a CMOS clear solved this 'sorting' problem?
Restores never seem to go into a queue after many efforts to set that up. The only restore
on system is from today.
But I recall now just writing this that there may be another to retrieve.
Closing out this message but I will see if that's possible.
My question for the group is how can get back a consistent naming convention for three machines
so as to avoid whatever duplication or masking problem that fails to recognize all three.
