so I ran malware bytes... it found and removed tons of things. but Im still getting popup ads in IE 11 and chrome.

chrome and IE are so bad I cant even open them, tons of popups, ads.

so, I ran kapersky virus remover, and malwarebytes, and mcafee.. all removed lots of stuff... but this pc is not right. what am I doing wrong?

I cant seem to remove stuff in the browsers.... ? I know little about IE, never used it much... lots of fake warnings to update flash, pages going to fake PC help or repair sites...

I see some of the stuff in IE add-ons, but its not letting me remove them. honestly I dont have much experience using IE... I've avoided it for years and tell others to do the same.

so, how can I get this stuff out of chrome and IE? any tips appreciated :)

Try resetting IE. You are downloading too much and not unchecking boxes when you do. You have to slow down and pay attention.

thanks for the fast reply.

did an IE reset. no luck. I see an add-on called "PrinceCouponu" with no option for removing it. many ads had this word under them. its under the not available section, but it's enabled and I cant remove it.

something called multiplug was found by the virus programs and removed.

Does the PC still have the factory install? If so that is the worst possible install of Win7 one can have, larded with bloatware and duplicate utilities which interfere with better versions built into Win7. That's why most tech enthusiasts won't even run such an install but instead http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/219487-clean-reinstall-factory-oem-windows-7-a.html#post1839164.

Everything needed is in the blue link to get and keep a perfect install just like a million others have done without a single complaint. There are very specific steps about how to avoid invaders and run a clean boot. There's also a warning a out any installed Google programs being pernicious spyware I'd avoid or further mitigate as given.

Until then you can also Clean Up Factory Bloatware.

I will try that also. thanks. :)

may have the factory install not sure. how can I tell? something called "multiplug" has added a lot of registry entries...

Tried to do the same for a friend of mine, but it was way too loaded with crap. Made him a deal: dinner for a clean install a few choice programs for safer use and a quick 101 guide on better habits. The dinner was worth the hour or so of time :)

First problem that need taken care of is; you are running 2 anti virus programs at the same time. This will cause all kinds of problems.

From you specs.
Antivirus avast, MSE

I would suggest removing one or the other using their online removal tool.
Then update the other one and make sure it is running active.
