I don't know why but my computer keeps locking after two minutes of being idle. It goes straight to the logon screen and says locked. I've checked power settings but no luck. It just keeps doing it. Any ideas what is happening?

It's driving me nuts.

Hello there.

Could you elaborate a little bit better your issue? does it reboot after the locking? do you have to manually reboot it? do you see any strange behavior?

Could you upload a screenshot of Resource Monitor (resmon) in the CPU tab sorted by CPU usage? use the paperclip button to attach an image :)

If I have a window open for two minutes idle, the screen turns black for a second and goes straight to the logon screen where I then type my password and log back in. Under the logon box it says "Locked". When I log back in the window that I had open is still open.

That's about as clear as I can explain it.

Ok, let's see.

Boot into safe mode with networking (F8 on BIOS before startup) and see if you have the same problem there.

I checked the screensaver settings and it was set to 1 minutes even though there is no screensaver applied. It was also checked to require a password. I put the setting to 20 minutes and now I'm not having the problem.
