Thanks for the info. I m using Kaspersky Internet Security 2011 at the moment. It has very less impact on RAM.
At idle, its using around 20 MB.

not so sound a fanboy here but me too.. never got a false positive.. (there was once but it was when i scanned my friend's usb and it reported a keygen containing a trojan. it did not contain any malware whatsoever but kaspersky reported it was

KIS 2011 certainly looks good but when I upgraded a family members computer I had problems updating the definitions so had to revert back to KIS 2010 which updates no problem

KIS 2011 certainly looks good but when I upgraded a family members computer I had problems updating the definitions so had to revert back to KIS 2010 which updates no problem
sometimes KIS does that.. it happened to me atleast three times during the last 2 years. all i had to do is to update again. it might say databases are corrupted but you update again
. i remember one time that i let it sit for atleast a day then ran the update again.My Computer

I really like Kaspersky, but I just can't bring myself to pay for a new subscription every year, especially when there are really good free AVs out there.
