Solved PC not wanting to boot from SSD

Guys i'm desperate for your help now. I've literally tried everything. EVERYTHING. But it still gives me the same dang error. I've tried changing SATA cables, trying out 5 different copies of Windows and changing molex connectors. Magician gives me a "healthy".Although it gives me a error saying that the disk is frozen. The error that it gives me is "Insert proper boot media and press any key to continue".

Where did you get your install media from ?

Try another drive.

From Microsoft. Windows 7 works perfectly on my storage drive.

Hi,
Do you remember what your disk management looked like ?
Did you have 100mb system reserved partition ?
About all I can think of is startup repair 3 times in a row with no other drives connected except the ssd :/

Laith,

This looks like a fix for the "Frozen State" problem. Read the "best answer" here:

It looks like you'll have to erase the SSD to get it to unfreeze, and then reinstall, but it looks like it might work.

ThrashZone, how am i supposed to run Startup Repair when i can't even boot into Windows? I can try booting off of an USB and use the "Repair your computer" option.

Mellon Head, I can try that. I've tried Secure Erasing from Windows but it told me to do a power cycle which failed. But i can try it from DOS.

Make sure when you power cycle that you unplug both the SATA cable and the power cable for more than 5 seconds each, then reconnect them. Don't power cycle the PC.

Yeah, that's what i did.

So a little update, i did the power cycle thingy and all that, it worked! Untillllll i booted to my Windows 7 storage drive and ran magician, once again it said that it's frozen.

EDIT: 3 times now...

I can try booting off of an USB and use the "Repair your computer" option.

That is how you do it either by flash media or dvd use recovery tools and startup repair.

Well i don't think it will help because my drive is in a "Frozen" state.

You may have tried this but if not; put your PC into sleep mode and then "Wake it up" This often unfreezes a frozen SSD. Worth a try perhaps!

I can't do that, because i can't even boot into it.

If Thrashzones idea doesn't work then you might consider giving Darik's Boot And Nuke a try. Unfortunately the free version doesn't work on an SSD, you need the paid for version called Blancco 5 from here Buy | Blancco Technology Group
This should clean your SSD and allow it to unfreeze. It will cost you about 18$ and I have never used this method, never having had a "Frozen SSD" so there is no guarantee.

Laith I had a little problem a while ago with my USB ports being nullified and Thrash Zone I am sure it was gave me the solution of getting them back by uninstalling Magician which duly did waht was wanted. For what it is worth the Magician software I think is of little value unless one is an absolute egghead/boffin and figure out what it actually does apart from spit out loads of info about the drive.
I think you are just as well off tweaking the thing by hand (ie the Optimise tutorial) as it were and for the record I now run all my Samsungs without Magician and have had no problems.

Having said that the others have made almost the same as I would have done - late reply cos being playing with Linux although I have never had to resort to what as been suggested - yet:shock:

Bingo! I've fixed this problem before. It's the Samsung Rapid Mode filter. Try turning off Rapid Mode. Verify the Samsung lower filter is no longer listed. Try your usb drives again. Hope that works for you too!

Bingo! I've fixed this problem before.

Well back at my place and Bingo you have doen it again uninstalled the Magician which I am sure is not that necessary anyway and back came my USB ports
