pc problem

Hi every1 ,
I need your advice ( opinion ) about my computer issue . First u should know my configuration :
processor : Intel Core i5 760 ( 2.8 ghz , 8MB )
graphics : ATi Radeon 5750 HD 1024 mb DDR 5
RAM : 2 gb kingston apacer DDR3
motherboard : Gigabyte P55-US3L
HDD : Blue Caviar 500 gb
and i m running windows 7 ultimate 64bit.
While i surf online or just play some game my computer freezes. So what u think ? Is it software or hardware issue or..?

Not everyone uses the term "freeze" to mean the same thing. Does it lag, does the screen freeze and you have to shut down manually, do you get a BSOD, or do you mean something else. It could be either software or hardware related.

yes it just freezes and i have to shut it down manually , cant move mouse , music stops playing all stops working.

Try taking a look in Event Viewer. Type "event" in to the start menu search bar and press the Enter key. Let it sit for a minute to load everything. Then look in Windows logs > application. Look for any errors or critical errors from around the time it froze last. Anything else, including warnings, can be ignored.

hmm, sounds to me like a software issue. When your PC is idle, is the cpu staying at 0% or close to 0? or is it fluctuating by a lot?
Have you tried running CCleaner?
You can try running that to see if that makes it any better. Also, try running Malwarebyte's Anti-Malware

It could be bad RAM. I just tossed some sticks that were faulty, and one of the symptoms was a complete and total freeze up, requiring a reset button reboot.

I had this issue on my old PC. Your rams are causing the problems here, just buy new ram and check. It should resolve the problem.

RAM isn't the only possible cause, but it is a good possibility. Download memtest86+ and burn the ISO to a CD. Boot into the CD and let it run for 5-6 passes. It takes a long time, so we usually recommend doing it over night. Then you can stop it in the morning.

+1 Have personally seen this a couple times.

Not an actual BSOD. Just a Lock up.

Another possibility for sure, but may not be the actual cause in your case.

I would take Petey7s advice to rule out or confirm RAM 1st though.
