My Windows 7 PC will not boot the OS, and gives me a brief bluescreen before restarting and repeating the cycle. If I launch startup repair it loads for a while and then asks if I want startup repair again. If I choose to load Windows 7 after this, it does the bluescreen, but if I choose recovery or whatever it simply loads with a pixelated windows loading bar, and after this it's a large, pixelated (Assumedly low resolution) cursor that I can only move around with my mousepad, on a black background.

Can you get into Safe Mode? As soon as your splash screen disappears, start tapping F8 till you see a startup menu. Select either Safe Mode or Safe Mode with Networking. If you can get into Safe Mode, we can try some things to see what the problem is.

I use Samba to share my data drive with the other computers at my house and with my guest session in VMWare Workstation Player.
I've resolved the issue; I'm almost certain I require a new hard disk.
