there 2 issues that are most common causes of things like this.

1) is a faulty ram stick. simplest way to check that if you have more than 1 stick is to remove one and then see if the issue occurs. if it does, replace it and remove the other one. if that cures it, you have found the issue, if it doesnt, try cleaning the ram with a can of compressed air as well as the ram slots. and test again.

2) if none of that works then its a gpu fault, again more thsn likely faulty ram on the gpu. heat could cause artifacts so check gpu temperatures.

yeah thats well within thermal limits. most gpus have a thermal limit of about 90c. my 770 happily sits at 87c under full load when playing games for hours.

do you have access to another computer you could put your gpu into to see if you can recreate the issue.

My wife just looked over and said "that's a pretty picture" :D

I have nothing constructive to add, except maybe try another monitor and see if the problem remains.

have you updated any drivers lately? especially video drivers?

download msi afterburner as well as msi kombuster. use it to stress test your card. as well as see how it performs/if it causes issues.

if you could fill out your system specs in the bottom left hand side of your post, it would help further.
