Hi all i have a Asus AT3N7A mini itx board set up as a media center pc.
Got it set up to schedule recordings by waking up from the xbox 360 extender downstairs so basically the pc is always either in sleep mode or is 'awake' recording tv.

Yesterday the pc just woke up on its own and i'm trying to figure out why, no recordings were scheduled, i took a look at the automatic updates to see if it was waking to see if any updates were available but that was set to 3pm - hours earlier.

Can i see anywhere on the pc when it has been 'woken' up and what is was woken up to actually do? Is it in the 'event viewer'? I'm not too clear what bit i should be looking for in there to get some clues its all a bit confusing. I'd like to find out if the pc has been waking up at any other times during the day when i'm not around

Help appreciated

Hi sorethumbs, I don't think this isn't such a rare occurence - I have a remote machine waking itself more often than wanted. I updated the network driver, and I use wake/sleep on LAN features. When I boot the modem (on a separate power supply) this will usually wake the remote PC, or sometimes it just wakes when there is no apparent reason. I've just accepted this knowing that I'll fresh install the OS when I have a few days holiday.

Post back if you get a result.
