Solved PCI Simple Communication Controller Error

hi Dear,

I purchase Dell Inspiron 1564 with Windows 7, all drivers are ok but PCI Simple Communication Controller driver not installed. I Try to install by internet but error is the same

please help me to solve the issue

that driver would be for a dial up modem and on Dells website the only modem they have listed is an extrenal USB modem is this an Inspiron laptop or desktop

I just downgraded a Win7 Inspiron 1564 to Win XP Pro for a client and had the same issue. 'PCI Simple Communications Controller' flagged in Dev Mgr turned out to be 'Intel Management Engine Interface' (Intel MEI). After finally digging up that little gem on the web, found a post indicating Dell package R243176 would contain the driver I needed. Worked like a charm for me.
Good for XP, Vista 32/64, Win7 32/64 - Inspiron 1464, 1564, 1764 - Studio Laptop 1558, 1569

Use a download manager to download the files. You are most probably not able to download it completely off the DELL ftp servers.
