Hello
I bought for my HP Z800 a HP SuperSpeed PCIe x1 5000Mbit/s interface hub so that I could increase the number of USB ports.

All my PCI slots except for the graphic card are unpopulated. I do not know which slot to insert this card
If you have a moment let me know the slot I need to insert this card.
Thanks!

This is the info that came with the card:
P/N BM867AA
P/N CHI314PCB-2
P/N 608151-001
Assy P/N 607782-001
2x external port USB 3.0 expansion card, PCI-E 2.0

To my recollection, any PCIe x1 card will work in any PCIe slot. In fact, I believe that I once plugged an extra PCIe x1 SATA controller into a PCIe x16 slot and it worked fine.

Before you try it, though, I would like to hear what other forum members have to say on the subject.

Thanks for confirming that townsbg. I was pretty sure I was remembering that correctly, but it's nice to have confirmation. :)

You can run a PCI-e graphics card in an x1 slot but it isn't a good idea since an x1 doesn't have the same bandwidth. Also the x16 connects to the faster end of the chipset. What you can't do is run a PCI-e card in a PCI or AGP slot.
