I've used Foxit Phantom which I found very good and also PDF-XChange but there are others like Nitro PDF so I suppose it depends on your budget My Computer Computer typePC/DesktopComputer Manufacturer/Model NumberHome MadeOSWindows 7 Ultimate x64CPUQ6600 3.1ghzMotherboardGigabyte GA-P35-DS3LMemoryKingston DDR2 6400 8GBGraphics Card(s)Gigabyte Radeon HD 6850 1GB 256-BitSound CardOn boardMonitor(s) DisplaysAcer X243HScreen Resolution1920x1080Hard DrivesIntel 330 120GB SSD WD 2TB 7200PSUThermaltake Toughpower 750W Semi ModularCaseModified AlienwareKeyboardA4TechMouseGigabyte ECO600AntivirusComodoBrowserCyberfox

Then I edit the Word document and save it as PDF. This is a handy on-line converter that you need not install. It does a really good job - even with pictures and hyperlinks. Example attached.
