Pefect Security?

Hey guys, I had Kaspersky Internet Security 2010 installed on my laptop until yesterday. It was working fine for 2-3 months until a few days ago when it started slowing my computer down a lot. My internet connection also slowed because of it, I uninstalled it and my laptop is back to running great again. Kaspersky was amazing, loved it so much, but I need something that I can install now that is reliable and will not slow me down at all. I basically don't want to notice it. What do you'll suggest? Doesn't matter if it's free or for pay, I just want something that will work and not slow me down at all.

I see that MSE is really good, how does it compare to VIPRE? Is that any good, speed is most important.

I use both MSE and Eset Smart SEcurity. ESS is both antivirus and a firewall. I dont even think about it any more

Highly recommend MSE. It does a great job and is totally uninvasive.

MSE has no zero day protection and it relies on updated signatures - go for Norton Internet Security. Otherwise try Bitdefender or maybe G-Data. Freeware apps don't give you comprehensive protection and the updates have a lower priority along with little to no support. Don't go with VIPRE - go for a reputable suite. I might have gone with Kaspersky but would it really slow your pc down?

You should also have a spyware detector,. and personal firewall.

A great freeware firewall is PC Tools Firewall Plus.'
