Performance monitor bug? Is this known?

I can't use the Resource monitor. This is build 7048. Is this a known bug? I can't find anything about it. Do any of you have this problem? It just keeps coming back until I close Resource monitor. Thanks for any info.

I mean the Resource Monitor. Also....it worked at first....I assume it's just a bug because it's a beta.

Hi Nate,

You could try a system file check, as it worked originally, in case the system files have somehow get SNAFU'ed,

Admin CMD prompt

SFC /scannow

let us know if it helps

From the actual message it could be that the program is looking for an extenal drive that was there when ran last time but has been removed

Thanks Barman. Strangely, now it is working. I am now wondering if it has something to do with this.....When I created the partition to install Windows 7, I used a tool and the default was "logical drive" So it's installed on a logical drive. Everything I read says to make it a "primary partition"....Can I change this now or would it require a new install? It seems to be running fine except this one error (that is gone now) What should I do?

I read another post of your's Barman. You had just installed 7 on a logical drive. I just can't make it "active" What does that mean exactly?

Sorry so long getting back

Windows recognizes two forms of partitions Primary and Extended

Only Primary partitions may be made "Bootable"

You can only have a maximum of four Primary partitions per drive under windows, with any additional partitions having to be non-Bootable Extended partitions.

Fortunately for addicted Multi-Booters like myself , windows will get round this limitation by the method that all post XP Windows Operating Systems will use the same boot partition in a multi-boot scenario. As long as the first OS installed is on a primary partition the it and any laster OS's will boot without issues.

It is possible using a 3rd party tool to alter the type of partition without destroying you data, and if setting up a system from scratch I would probably try to set each OS to have a primary partition. This is howerver not required so I would not advise you to change anything as long as your system is working.

Making the drive "active" sets it as the primary boot partition so it is not possible to make a Logical (extended) partition active

Thanks.....I am left wondering how the Windows 7 boot manager took over on a logical drive. It seems it IS bootable. I will not change anything since it works but will set up primary partitions from now on. Thanks again.
