Performance options pop up window

Every time I boot up my windows 7 Laptop I get "Performance Options" window.
and I can't set up a paging file
My RAM is:4GB

I'm booting my laptop with external hard drive....Is that the problem??

and yeah I used the command (sfc /scannow) and it says (Windows found corrupted file and can't fix it)

it also gave me a LOG file and when I open it says ( Access denied)

Please Help me...I want to play minecraft:cry:

Have you run Checkdisk /r or Windows startup repair from the install disk, 3 times? There are tutorials for both these functions.

1-No I can't
2 & 3 I didn't understand what do you mean exactly
4- when I want to play a game that uses alot of ram memory it give me messages to save and close programs that uses the ram memory like Minecraft.

forgive me I'm not so good with laptop and devices:(

I don't know what happened it was fine...about 1 month ago when I started up my laptop it said Windows can't start up because of a change of devices....and I don't remember what else it said:rolleyes:

Before I go on...is the problem that I can't set a paging file is from the internal drive is not working??

I'm asking because I don't want to just solve the problem and then forget about it....I want to learn something at least.

Yes I made the external drive bootable from another computer , but no without it's programs .... like formatting with windows cd.

As far as I know it's not possible to boot Windows 7 from external media (at least within the license terms)
