performance options pop up window

Every time I boot up my windows 7 computer I get this "Performance Options" window.
How do I keep this from coming up each time.

Me problem of the performance option popup

There is something odd about that window. It should show the total page file size and it doesn't.

It may look that way if he has no pagefile size settings...

On mine it says 0 if I have it turned off.

I have no page file either. It shows a 0, but i must open Avd setting to see it. No pop ups at boot

Ok I ran the SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker And found some corrupt files. BUT when I tryed to view them it would not let me. This is a new computer. It worked fine when I first booted and installed the preloaded operating system and loaded all of my programs at work. But when I came home and plugged in my Scanner, Printer, mouse, & External hard drive which were all hooked together with a hub. The computer Blue screened. I unplugged the USB hub and re-booted it started fine. I then shut down re-plugged in the USB and re-booted it again blue screened on me. I removed all the hardware and re-hooked each of them except the external hard drive and that's when I started getting the performance pop up on the screen. I later re-hooked up the external hard drive into a separate USB and it worked fine. No more blue screen. Just the preformance option pop up. I have NO restore point before that time. Would it be best to do a Repair install to fix Windows 7?

Yes the Repair should fix most of issues with System Files
If it's a new Computer it's best to speak with vendor and get a replacement or get it fixed it strange behavior for a New PC

Well I did the reinstall of windows. No luck still doing it. I will be talking to our computer department on Monday to see if they have any ideas. Then onto Dell Good luck there

Is this a work computer?

If so,, maybe there is a group policy causing this?

No it's my personnel one. I don't have it set up to work on there network. It was very slow at work last Wed. it was a good time to play with my new toy. I just let it run next to me an load the programs.

Ok,, then,,,
As stated,, this is extremely odd. That window does only have one tab and opens on startup. You could be infected, but,,,, I haven't ever seen this.

There are only a couple places that this might be set at to run at start up....

One is the startup folder off the start menu
Also might check the public startup folder
And the default,, however, anything there should show in your startup folder,, hell check all the startup folders you can find.

The rest are in the registry... Be careful while in the registry, you can hose up your system.
Start / type Regedit in the search box and hit enter

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

Can you post what is listed there?

Ok I fixed it After reinstalling win 7 I went out to the Control Panel, System, Advanced till got to the Performance Options window and set my min. and max Mb's. It took this time it would never save before. Maybe that file was corrupted and the reinstall fixed that. Anyway it's fixed . Thanks for your help.
